Superliga ArgentinaWeekly – Argentina Betting Tips & Analysis

We have freshened up the format a little this week with our focus on the the Superliga Argentina.

1. Sanguinetti Leaves Newell’s

As we told you in the last report, Javier Sanguinetti was on a
tightrope, and the 1-2 defeat against Godoy Cruz ended up with the coach’s dismissal. Now Newell’s will have to face Velez in a game that will have a particularity, as Velez will probably use a full substitute team to take care of their starters for the Copa Libertadores semi-final next week (more on that below).

Newell’s will be led by an interim coach until a decision is made on who the next coach will be, and hopefully the team will be able to raise their level, as they have great players like Willer Ditta, Ramiro Macagno and Ramiro Sordo.

2. Buonanotte – The New Star In Argentina

The young attacking midfielder of Rosario Central is considered by his ability as the most important future star of the country. Being only 17 years old, he has managed to be the undisputed starter and the engine of his team, and this led to the interest of several European teams in him, which triggered the novel that we experienced this week.

Brighton of England contacted Rosario Central interested in buying the young player, and offered the impressive figure of 12 million euros for 80% of the player, and the club initially accepted the proposal.

However, overnight everything changed, the Argentinian club’s management backtracked and decided that the deal would not go ahead. They said that they could not get rid of the player at this time and that the price of the player went from 12 to 20 million. This upset Facundo, who was hoping to make the jump to the Premier League, the player’s agent, who was finalising the details to complete the deal, found out and said: “With this management, we don’t want to know anything more”.

Now Facundo will have to continue playing for Rosario, with a broken relationship with the team’s management, it is expected that in the next transfer market he will leave the team as his talent is too large to keep playing in the Argentine league.

3. The Gap Between Argentina and Brazil Widens…

Velez played the first leg of the Copa Libertadores at home against Flamengo this past Wednesday, and was defeated in a categorical manner by 0-4, suffering one of the biggest defeats of the last years in South American football.

This means that the series is completely over, as the second leg will be played in Rio de Janeiro and it is already known that Velez has no chance of reversing history, knowing this we will have to see if Velez will keep their first team players this weekend in the local league.

And the sad conclusion that leaves us is that the economic difference between Argentina and Brazil is abysmal, as we told you last week Flamengo’s roster is worth 160 million and Velez’s is worth 50 million. The economic power of Brazil is represented in recent years, since the victory of River in 2018, there was no non-Brazilian team that could win the Copa Libertadores. Sadly, we expect the situation to continue to be this way and the gap to get bigger and bigger.

Game Of The Week: Gimnasia vs Independiente

Gimnasia de la Plata was robbed last weekend, since the whole match was even and tied, and in one of the last plays of the match, Franco Soldano had a great opportunity and was knocked down with a very hard kick from behind, which was not sanctioned by the referee or by the VAR, under the excuse that it was not working.

This is doubly painful because if they had been awarded the penalty and converted it, they would have been first in the table of positions.

Now they have the task of not being blinded by this injustice and to continue on the road to victory, and they will be able to do so without major difficulties as they face Independiente, who are in a very weak moment.

Independiente is in one of the worst moments in its history, both institutionally and football-wise. The fans are furious at the way the team is playing and the decisions made by the president, decisions that have led them to financial ruin, they are in debt, they owe millions to various teams for transfers they never paid, and they owe millions to their players, who have not been paid for months.

These debts caused them to be sanctioned by FIFA, which concluded that Independiente will not be able to incorporate in the next transfer market as a sanction.

Independiente have only one win in their last twelve games, while Gimnasia are in second place in the table with a much more positive situation. We expect Gimnasia to get the win, however they will have a very difficult game as Independiente will be defending for the full ninety minutes.
