Real Madrid CF vs. RCD Espanyol de Barcelona kicks off at 15:15 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 30, at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

Real Madrid picked up a 4-3 loss to Manchester City in Tuesday’s seven-goal thriller UEFA Champions League semi-final first-leg clash at the Manchester City Stadium. A brace from Karim Benzema (33’, 82’ P.), which included an audacious Panenka penalty, and a goal from Vinicius Jnr. (55’) saw the Vikings hit the back of the net three times. Kevin De Bruyne (2’) bagged the opener minutes after kick-off before a left-footed effort from Bernardo Silva (74’) wrapped up the four-goal haul for the Sky Blues. "It was a fantastic game," Ancelotti told BT Sport in a post-match interview. "As manager of Real Madrid, I think I have to take into consideration that we scored three goals, and that was really important, but we didn't defend so well," he added. Back on Spanish soil, Madrid picked up a 3-1 win over Osasuna last Wednesday at El Sadar. Los Blancos have four victories in a row, LWWWW, and 78 points from 24W, 6D, and 3L. Sitting 15 points clear of second-placed Barcelona [63 points] with five games left to play, a victory here would see Los Blancos crowned La Liga champions for the 35th time. An unbeaten 24-game run at home - their best current run of unbeaten home games against a single opponent - precedes Saturday’s clash against Espanyol [21W & 3D]. In addition, Real Madrid has lost just one of their last 45 home games against newly-promoted sides [43W, 1D, & 1L]. On Saturday, a 4—3—3 with Vinicius Jnr., Benzema, and Asensio could appear in attack against Espanyol. Following a brace in Tuesday’s UCL clash against City, Benzema, who is LaLiga's top scorer (25 goals), became the top scorer in this season's UEFA Champions League, with 14 goals to his name.

After sweeping the Hornets aside with relative ease, the Cityzens are back in the star-studded arena of champions, looking to put a foot in the final of the 67th edition of Europe’s most prestigious tournament. In the mid-week game against Osasuna, Carlo Ancelotti lined up a 4—3—3 with Rodrygo, Karim Benzema, and Marco Asensio in attack from left to right. However, changes are expected in the final third for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash against the Citizens. Vinicius Junior is well poised to knock Rodrygo off the left, while Federico Valverde could do the same on the right. Benzema remains the second-highest goal-scorer in the UEFA Champions League this season, with 12 goals. Meanwhile, Eden Hazard is ruled out of Tuesday’s clash against Manchester City.

CA Osasuna vs. Real Madrid CF kicks off at 20:30 (GMT+1) on Wednesday, April 20, at El Sadar.

Ivan Rakitić (21’) bagged the opener with a sublime freekick before Erik Lamela (25’) left Madrid with a two-goal deficit. However, Rodrygo (50’) came off the bench to reduce the deficit to one. Nacho (82’) got the leveler late in the second half before none other than Karim Benzema (90’+2) came to Madrid’s rescue once again. "We’re getting used to this because this team is capable of special things," Carlo Ancelotti said after the hard-fought 3-2 win. "The games against PSG and Chelsea have helped us to believe we can come back. Everyone is waiting for Madrid to slip, but this team doesn’t do it because they have heart, character, and personality. We haven’t won the league yet, but we’ve given it a good push with this win," the Madrid boss added.
