After picking up a draw against the Foxes, the Lions are back against the Canaries, looking to return to winning ways. The Premier League clash, Aston Villa FC vs. Norwich City FC, kicks off at 15:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 30, at Villa Park.

The Villans are without a win in five Premier League games following a goalless draw against Leicester City over the weekend at the King Power Stadium. The draw comes after four consecutive defeats, LLLLD, and leaves Aston Villa in 15th place, with 37 points from 11W, 4D, and 17L. The Lions are looking to remain well above the bottom three. A win over relegation-threatened Norwich could see the club move one step up the Premier League table if fourteenth-placed Crystal Palace [38 points] fails to defeat Southampton over the weekend. Meanwhile, the Lions have won seven of their last eight Premier League games against the Canaries. However, the Villans have lost four of their last seven Premier League games against sides at the bottom of the table [2W, 1D, & 4L]. Steven Gerrard, who has a 36%-win rate after 22 games [8W, 3D, & 11L], would like to see the percentage go up at the end of Saturday’s clash against the Canaries. The 41-year-old could line up the 4—3—2—1 formation, with Ollie Watkins at the top of the shape against the Yellows.

The Premier League fixture, Leicester City vs. Aston Villa, kicks off at 15:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 23, at the King Power Stadium.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa suffered an embarrassing 4-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend following a hat-trick from Son (3', 66' & 712') and a goal from Dejan Kulusevski (50') at Villa Park. The defeat leaves the Lions with four losses in a row, WLLLL, and in 15th place with 36 points from 11W, 3D, and 17L. Aston Villa are looking to complete a Premier League double over Leicester City for the first time since the 2003-04 season, following their 2-1 win at Villa Park in the reverse fixture. Steven Gerrard and the Claret & Blue Army could appear in the shape of an attacking 4—3—1—2. Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins are expected in attack, while Philippe Coutinho could be behind the duo, looking to pick a hole through Leicester City’s defense. Meanwhile, Villa have no new injury worries ahead of the weekend’s clash.

After the narrow defeat to Wolves last weekend, the Lions are back in the Premier League looking to land a huge blow on Tottenham's top-four ambitions. Aston Villa vs. Tottenham Hotspur kicks off at 17:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 9, at Villa Park.

Aston Villa failed to earn a point following a 2-1 defeat to Wolves last Saturday at the Molineux Stadium. Three times lucky, Jonny (7’) eventually saw the net rattle after failed attempts in the same phase of play from Podence and Fabio Silva, leaving Villa with a one-goal deficit inside the first ten minutes. A bizarre own goal from Ashley Young (36’ O.G.) left the Lions with a two-goal deficit before Ollie Watkins (86' P.) tried to inspire a failed comeback from the penalty spot, with minutes left on the clock. The 2-1 loss leaves Villa with three defeats in a row (WWLLL), as they slipped two spots down the table from 9th to 11th place, having failed to pick up a point last weekend. The Villans have a total of 36 points from 11W, 3D, & 16L and have won just four matches in their last 30 Premier League episodes in the month of April [4W, 9D, & 17L]. However, Steven Gerrard is hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday in order to avert what could be a free fall across the table if Villa picks up another defeat. The Claret & Blue Army could line up in a 4—3—1—2 formation with the attacking duo of Ollie Watkins and Leon Bailey in front for this clash against Spurs. Aston Villa have no major injury worries ahead of Saturday’s game.

After giving up a two-goal lead in a gut-wrenching defeat to the Peacocks just before the international break, Wolves return to take on the Lions this weekend, looking to get their top-six ambitions back on track. Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Aston Villa kicks off at 15:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 2, at the Molineux Stadium.

Last time out, Aston Villa suffered a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, courtesy of a single goal by Bukayo Saka (30') at Villa Park. With back-to-back defeats, WWWLL, the Lions remain in 9th place on the Premier League table, having 36 points from 11W, 3D, & 15L. Sitting right below Wolves on the table, ten points separate both sides. A victory here would only be enough to see Villa keep their spot in a congested mid-table section. The Lions are ahead of 10th-placed Leicester City [36 points] by goal difference and remain within striking distance of 13th-placed Brighton [33 points]. Steven Gerrard is hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday, in order to avert what could be a free fall across the table if Villa picks up a defeat. The Claret & Blue Army could line up in a 4—3—2—1 formation with Ollie Watkins at the top of the shape for this clash against Wolves.

After Sunday’s defeat to the Hammers, the Lions take on the Gunners this weekend, hoping to land a huge blow on their ambitions for a top-four finish. The Premier League fixture, Aston Villa F.C. vs. Arsenal F.C., kicks off at 13:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, March 19, at Villa Park.

Aston Villa picked up a 2-1 defeat to West Ham last weekend at the London Stadium. Andriy Yarmolenko (70’) eventually broke the deadlock midway through the second forty-five. Minutes later, Pablo Fornals (82’) doubled the lead for West Ham. Jacob Ramsey (90’) pulled one back for Aston Villa, but it appeared to be a little too late to inspire a comeback. The loss leaves three wins sandwiched between two defeats for Villa, LWWWL, as they sit in 9th place, having 36 points from 11W, 3D, and 14L. The Lions are on course to pick up three home wins against the Gunners at top-level since they last did so between 1975 and 1979, when they went four in a row. A victory for Villa would only preserve their spot as they trail eight-placed Wolves [46 points] by ten points. A broken down 4—3—3 in the shape of a 4—1—2—1—2 was seen against the Irons and is expected to be seen again on Saturday, with Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings in attack. Philippe Coutinho, who has been in sparkling form since his arrival at Villa, will be in between the duo while having the freedom to drop deep into the midfield or join in on the attack. Coutinho has a hand in six goals in his first four Premier League home appearances for Aston Villa [3G & 3A] and will be looking to add to his tally on Saturday.

After picking up a defeat on European soil, the Hammers are back in the Premier League, looking to pick up three points against the Lions in their quest to close the gap on the top-four. The Premier League fixture, West Ham United vs. Aston Villa FC, kicks off at 15:00 (GMT+1) on Sunday, March 13, at the London Stadium.

Aston Villa are coming off Thursday’s 3-0 win over Leeds United at Elland Road. The victory leaves the club with three wins in a row (LLWWW) and in 9th place on the Premier League table, having picked up 36 points from 11W, 3D, & 13L. "I am very happy," Steven Gerrard said after the 3-0 win. "The team is in a fantastic place and the mood is good, but we have to remain cautious and keep resetting ourselves. Things can change quickly in this league," the Villa boss warned. "The game plan worked tonight for sure. The idea was to really dominate the middle of the pitch," Gerrard added. Steven Gerrard would like to see that performance replicated on Sunday against West Ham when his side make their 28th appearance of the season. The Claret and Blue Army could take the familiar shape of a 4—3—3, having Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings, and Philippe Coutinho in attack.

Looking to bounce back following the weekend’s defeat to the Foxes, the Peacocks take on the Lions in this re-arranged fixture, originally slated for Matchday 20. Leeds United vs. Aston Villa FC kicks off at 20:45 (GMT+1) on Thursday, March 10, at Elland Road.

The Lions picked the Saints to pieces in an emphatic 4-0 win at Villa Park on Saturday. Ollie Watkins (9') got the party started against Southampton, before Douglas Luiz (44'), Coutinho (52'), and Danny Ings (55') all penned their names on the score sheet. The win saw Aston Villa move a spot up the table from 12th to 11th place. Coming off back-to-back victories after two straight defeats, DLLWW, Aston Villa, with 33 points from 10W, 3D, and 13L, are looking to repeat the weekend’s performance when they take on Leeds on Thursday. Steven Gerrard and his Claret and Blue Army could line up in the 4—3—1—2 formation, having Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings in attack for this fixture.

After brushing the Seagulls aside, the Lions are back in the Premier League for the Saints, looking to narrow the gap on the top-ten at the end of Premier League Matchweek 28. Aston Villa FC vs. Southampton FC kicks off at 16:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, March 5, at Villa Park.

Goals against Brighton by Matty Cash (17’) and Ollie Watkins (68’) helped Aston Villa return to winning ways last weekend after three games without a victory (WDLLW). A brilliant effort from Matty Cash, who, after bringing the ball down with his chest, found the bottom corner in goal to leave Villa in the lead at AMEX. Eight minutes after the hour mark, a composed Ollie Watkins struck for Villa’s second, leaving the Lions with a double over Brighton for the first time in forty years. In 12th place, while trailing the top-ten by three points, Aston Villa, with 30 points from 9W, 3D, and 13L, are looking to narrow the gap between them and the upper half of the table on Saturday. For the match against the Seagulls, Steven Gerrard deployed a 4—3—3 formation with Philippe Coutinho, Ollie Watkins, and Danny Ings in attack. He is expected to stick to both shape and personnel for this fixture against the Saints on Saturday. Watkins, who broke the duck after seven games without a goal, would like to hit the back of the net again at the weekend. Meanwhile, Ings, who made 67 appearances and scored 34 goals for Southampton between 2019 and 2021, will be facing his former club, looking to inflict some damage. On availability, Bertrand Traore remains doubtful for the weekend.

Following their humiliating loss to the Clarets last weekend, the Seagulls are back against the Lions looking to pick up three points and put the ugly score-line behind them. The Premier League fixture, Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Aston Villa, kicks off at 16:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, February 26, at Falmer Stadium.

Aston Villa succumbed to another 1-0 defeat to Watford last weekend at home and now sit in 13th place with back-to-back defeats, DWDLL. Having 27 points from 8W, 3D, & 13L, Steven Gerrard would like to see the Lions pick up three points against Brighton on Saturday. Villa’s torrid form has seen the Lions acquire only five points from a possible fifteen. With a victory in the reverse fixture, the Lions could bag a league double over Brighton for the first time since the 1981/82 edition of the Premier League. On Saturday, a 4—2—3—1 formation with Ollie Watkins at the top of the shape is anticipated for this fixture against the Seagulls. Ezri Konsa rejoins the squad after serving a two-game ban, while Bertrand Traoré is ruled out for the weekend's fixture.

After becoming the latest casualty of Newcastle's resurgence, the Lions make their return against the Hornets, hoping to reclaim lost ground after last weekend's narrow defeat. Aston Villa F.C. vs. Watford F.C. kicks off at 16:00 (GMT+1) on Saturday, February 19, at Villa Park. Referee Robert Jones will have the luxury of officiating this fixture with the help of the VAR, Paul Tierney.

Aston Villa were on the end of a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park last weekend and now remain without a victory in two games, LDWDL. Another remarkable free-kick from Kieran Trippier (35') left the Lions without a point, having seen a would-be equalizer from Watkins chalked off for offside after consultation with the VAR. The nifty-footed Allan Saint-Maximin almost doubled Newcastle’s lead after picking his way past four Villa shirts. However, the end product was too weak to trouble Emiliano Martínez in goal. Villa are in 12th place with 27 points after 8W, 3D, and 12L. After a great start, recent performances have been underwhelming, leaving Stevie with only four points from a possible fifteen in his last five appearances. The 41-year-old has a 39%-win rate after leading the Claret & Blue Army to 5W, 2D, and 6L in 13 games. However, a fine record against the Hornets and brilliant goal-scoring form on home soil leaves Gerrard in high spirits ahead of the weekend’s fixture. The Villans are one of the three teams to have scored in 100% of their Premier League home games this season (11/11), along with Liverpool and West Ham. Aston Villa have hit the back of the net in their last 12 games at Villa Park, which remains their longest goal-scoring run at home in the Premier League since March 2008, when a 16-goal-scoring run came to an end. After failing to score in the previous six games, Ollie Watkins is expected to make way for Danny Ings in attack against Watford in Villa’s 4—2—3—1 formation. Meanwhile, Ezri Konsa is suspended for this fixture. In other related news, Aston Villa has Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi on their radar and are looking to complete a summer transfer deal for the 25-year-old midfielder who is currently tied to the Foxes until June 2024.
