After bouncing back to winning ways following the UEFA Champions League exit, the Reds return against the Black & Yellows in Der Klassiker, looking to pick up a win and seal their record 31st Bundesliga title. Both sides renew their rivalry in another meeting, whose first episode dates back to October 16, 1965. FC Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund kicks off at 17:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 23, at the Allianz Arena.

Dortmund are looking to halt early celebrations for the Bavarians by denying them an outright victory on Saturday. The Black and Yellows are coming off a resounding 6-1 win over VfL Wolfsburg at the weekend, which leaves the club with back-to-back victories, WDLWW, ahead of Der Klassiker. Marco Rose lined up the 3—4—2—1 with Erling Haaland [38’ & 54’], who bagged a brace, at the top against Wolfsburg and is expected to do so again against Bayern on Saturday. Die Schwarzgelben could be without Dahoud (shoulder injury) and Hummels (thigh), while Meunier (hamstring) and Steffen Tigges (ankle injury) are also ruled out.

After a comfortable win over the Swabians, the Black & Yellows are back in the Bundesliga, aiming for a win over the Wolves as they look to reduce the nine-point gap to the top of the table. Borussia Dortmund vs. VfL Wolfsburg kicks off at 14:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 16, at Signal Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund picked up a 2-0 win over VfB Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz Arena last weekend. A brace from Julian Brandt (12' & 71') decided the outcome of the clash, leaving the Black & Yellows with their first victory after two games without a win, WWDLW. Dortmund is in 2nd place, nine points adrift of the league leaders, Bayern Munich, having picked up 60 points from 19W, 3D, and 7L. Following the 4-1 defeat to Leipzig in their last home game, BVB could now lose consecutive Bundesliga home matches for the first time since December 2020. The Black & Yellows have kept a clean sheet in five of their 12 Bundesliga games in the second half of the season and are looking to do so again on Saturday when they face Wolfsburg. Dortmund are hoping to see Arminia Bielefeld pile more misery on Bayern Munich [69 points], who crashed out of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, ahead of their clash against the Reds. BVB has a goal ratio of 2.41 GPG this season, having scored 70 goals in 29 Bundesliga games, which leaves them with the second-best attack in the league, behind Bayern Munich [86 goals]. Furthermore, Dortmund have conceded 42 goals and have a G.D. of +28. An average of 1.45 goals conceded per game. A 4—2—3—1 with Erling Haaland leading the attacking-minded formation is expected from Marco Rose for this clash against the Wolves.

The Bundesliga fixture, VfB Stuttgart vs. Borussia Dortmund, kicks off at 19:30 (GMT+1) on Friday, April 8, at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

In a 4-1 loss on home soil, Borussia Dortmund were surprisingly picked apart by the Red Bulls over the weekend. A brace from Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer (21' & 30'), coupled with goals from Christopher Nkunku (57') and Dani Olmo (86'), left the Black & Yellows without a victory in two games, DWWDL. Second-placed Dortmund saw the six-point gap between themselves and the league leaders, Bayern Munich [66 points], grow to nine points at the end of BL MD-28. The Black & Yellows have 57 points from 18W, 3D, & 7L. Die Schwarzgelben have failed to score in only one of their last 25 Bundesliga games against the Swabians, - in a goalless draw on home soil that dates back to November 2012. In any event, Marco Rose is now looking to bounce back from last weekend’s embarrassing defeat, which could see the Black & Yellows close in on the league leaders in the unlikely event that Bayern fails to defeat Augsburg on Saturday. Rose lined up three at the back for the game against the Red Bulls in the shape of a 3—4—2—1. He is expected to keep the same shape at the back while switching to a duo consisting of Haaland and Donyell Malen in attack. Dortmund could be without five players, along with Morey (knee), who remains doubtful for the weekend's game.

The German Bundesliga makes it return after the international break with one of the most anticipated fixtures of the weekend across the Big Five. BL MD 28 presents itself after 241 matches and 744 goals [3.09 goals per match], with none other than Robert Lewandowski sitting on top of the league’s goal-scoring charts, having 31 goals. Thomas Müller, King of Assists, has a count of 16 to his name, while Freiburg’s Mark Flekken and Mainz’s Robin Zentner are neck-to-neck with the highest number of clean sheets in the Bundesliga, 9. Bayern Munich remains at the top of the league table, while Greuther Fürth are at the very bottom with only 15 points and a boat-load of goals. Borussia Dortmund vs. RB Leipzig kicks off at 17:30 (GMT+1) on Saturday, April 2, at Signal Iduna Park.

Second-placed Borussia Dortmund trail the league leaders, Bayern Munich [63 points], by six points after failing to pick up a win on Bundesliga Matchday 27, when they took on FC Köln at the RheinEnergieStadion in a 1-1 draw. The Black and Yellows are unbeaten in five games, WDWWD, with 57 points from 18W, 3D, and 6L. Dortmund, the second-highest scoring side in the league with 67 goals [2.48 g.p.g], are looking to hit the back of the net once again on Saturday, as they look to brush the Red Bulls aside. Marco Rose adopted a 4—1—4—1 formation for the game against the Billy Goats but is expected to revert to the 4—3—3, with Erling Haaland remaining at the center of the attacking trio. Haaland, who continues to be a subject of interest from several top clubs, could be joined by Wolf and Marco Reus in attack. According to recent reports, Real Madrid are in pole position to sign the 21-year-old Haaland, who is expected to leave the club in a lucrative summer deal. Meanwhile, Meunier (muscular), Morey (knee injury), and Passlack (muscular) are all ruled out of the weekend’s game, alongside Schmelzer (knee) and Steffen Tigges (ankle injury). Mahmoud Dahoud rejoins the squad after serving a one-match suspension.

The Bundesliga fixture, FC Köln vs. Borussia Dortmund, kicks off at 19:30 (GMT+1) on Sunday, March 20, at the RheinEnergieStadion.

Borussia Dortmund picked up back-to-back victories, WWDWW, during the week following the 1-0 win over FSV Mainz 05 in a re-arranged fixture played on Wednesday. The Black and Yellows left it late with a single effort from Axel Witsel (87’) at the MEWA Arena. The victory saw the gap between Dortmund and the league leaders, Bayern Munich [60 points], reduced to four points. Die Schwarzgelben are in second place with 56 points after 18W, 2D, & 6L. If Bayern fails to defeat Union Berlin at the weekend, a Dortmund victory could narrow the gap at the top even further. Dortmund have hit the back of the net 66 times this season in 26 Bundesliga games and have an average of 2.5 goals per game. Die Schwarzgelben have conceded 37 goals [1.42 goals per match] so far this season and have a G.D. of +28. Marco Rose’s 4—3—3 could see Haaland back in the starting lineup alongside Thorgan Hazard and Donyell Malen. Haaland came on as a 57th-minute substitute in the game against the Zero5ers but could be available from the get-go on Sunday. Akanji (calf injury) and Meunier (muscular) are both ruled out, while Mahmoud Dahoud is suspended.

After failing to take part in any Bundesliga action over the weekend, the Zero5ers make their return against the Black & Yellows in this COVID-inspired re-arranged fixture. The Bundesliga clash between 1. FSV Mainz 05 and Borussia Dortmund kicks off at 18:30 (GMT+1) on Wednesday, March 16, at the MEWA Arena.

Second-placed Dortmund saw the gap to the league leaders, Bayern Munich [60 points], further reduced over the weekend after the Reds were locked in a 1-1 draw against Hoffenheim. Dortmund are coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld, courtesy of a single goal by Marius Wolf (21’). Dortmund have 53 points from 17W, 2D, and 6L, and are unbeaten in four games: LWWDW. A victory for the Black & Yellows here would see Dortmund reduce the gap at the top to four points. Die Schwarzgelben have conceded an average of 0.9 goals against the 05ers in the Bundesliga, fewer than any other team in the competition, and are looking to keep the door shut when they take on Mainz once again on Wednesday. Dortmund were missing several key players for the weekend’s game against Bielefeld, although Erling Haaland made his return after weeks of being sidelined with a groin injury. Marco Rose gave an injury update ahead of Wednesday’s game. "Marco Reus is still sick at home. Mats Hummels and Raphael Guerreiro are already doing better," he said. The 45-year-old could be lining up the 4—2—3—1 formation with Donyell Malen occupying the spot at the top of the shape.

The Bundesliga fixture, Borussia Dortmund vs. Arminia Bielefeld, kicks off at 17:30 (GMT+1) on Sunday, March 13, at Signal Iduna Park.

Borussia Dortmund failed to take part in any Bundesliga action last weekend, having had their game against FSV Mainz postponed. "The Bundesliga game between Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, originally scheduled for Sunday, March 6, cannot go ahead as planned,” a statement from the Bundesliga read. "The match will be postponed because Mainz does not have the minimum number of players required by the DFL rules of the game due to, among other things, domestic isolation as a result of positive corona findings." It continued. “The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, March 16, at 6.30 PM CET”. The Black and Yellows are coming off the back of a 1-1 draw against Augsburg and are looking to return to winning ways: WLWWD. Dortmund remains in 2nd place, nine points adrift of the league leaders, Bayern Munich [59 points], while having 50 points from 16W, 2D, & 6L. A victory for Dortmund could see the deficit at the top shrink, with the Reds facing Hoffenheim, who have proved to be a thorn in their side in recent times. The Black and Yellows are the only team in the Bundesliga this season yet to pick up a draw on home soil [10W, 0D, & 2L]. Marco Rose would like to see another win added to the tally when he lays out a 4—3—3 formation with Hazard, Malen, and the skipper, Marco Reus, in attack. Erling Haaland remains in doubt for this weekend’s game alongside Reyna (thigh injury). Meanwhile, Thomas Meunier and Steffen Tigges are both ruled out.

The Bundesliga fixture, 1. FSV Mainz 05 vs. Borussia Dortmund, kicks off at 15:30 (GMT+1) on Sunday, March 6, at the MEWA Arena.

Last weekend, Borussia Dortmund picked up a 1-1 draw against FC Augsburg at the WWK Arena. Thorgan Hazard (35’) gave the Black and Yellows the lead with a superb solo effort which saw him put two Augsburg shirts on the floor before firing past a white wall in defense. However, Noah Sarenren Bazee (78’) headed Augsburg back into the game to restore parity until full-time. In second place, with 50 points from 16W, 2D, & 6L, Die Schwarzgelben saw the gap between themselves and the league leaders, Bayern Munich [58 points], grow from six to eight points after last weekend's draw. Looking to return to winning ways (WLWWD) ahead of this fixture against Mainz, Marco Rose would like to see a favorable outcome in Saturday’s game between Bayern and Bayer Leverkusen. Unbeaten away from home since the turn of the new year [3W, 1D, & 0L], and in six away games at Mainz, Dortmund are looking to preserve the impressive record without a scratch. A victory here, combined with an unlikely Leverkusen win over the Reds, would see Dortmund's deficit at the top of the table reduced to five points. Marco Rose, 45, could appear with another Haaland-less 4—2—3—1 formation with Donyell Malen occupying the spot at the top of the shape.

The Bundesliga fixture, F.C. Augsburg vs. Borussia Dortmund, kicks off at 17:30 (GMT+1) on Sunday, February 27, at the WWK Arena.

Borussia Dortmund crashed out of the Europa League on Thursday, having lost 6-4 on aggregate after a 2-2 draw in the second leg of their game against Rangers. "The goals we concede are always too easy," Marco Rose said right after the exit from the UEFA Europa League. "There were crucial individual mistakes. That has been a theme throughout the season, but the boys gave everything here today," the Dortmund boss added. Last weekend, the Black and Yellows thrashed Borussia Mönchengladbach 6-0 at Signal Iduna Park. In 2nd place, Dortmund trails the league leaders, Bayern Munich [55 points], by six points, having picked up 49 points from 16W, 1D, & 6L. The club has a form that reads: WWLWW ahead of this fixture against Augsburg. Marco Rose is looking to bounce back after the disappointing exit from European soil. The Black and Yellows would like to see Bayern slip up at the weekend, against Frankfurt, in a bid to reduce the deficit at the top of the table. Die Schwarzgelben could line up with the 4—2—3—1 with Donyell Malen at the top of the shape in attack against Augsburg. On availability, Guerreiro (thigh), Haaland (groin injury), and Marco Reus (thigh injury) are all on the list of possible absentees.

After an embarrassing defeat in the Europa League to the Teddy Bears, the Black & Yellows return to Bundesliga action this weekend against the Colts. The Bundesliga fixture, Borussia Dortmund vs. Borussia Mönchengladbach kicks off at 17:30 (GMT+1) on Sunday, February 20, at Signal Iduna Park.

Technically blown away, Dortmund found themselves with a three-goal deficit inside fifty minutes in Thursday’s Europa League clash against Rangers. Jude Bellingham (51’) had pulled one back for the Black & Yellows before an own goal from Zagadou (54’ O.G.) restored the three-goal deficit. Raphaël Guerreiro (82’) had made a late attempt to inspire a yellow-tainted comeback on European soil, but Rangers held firm. "We didn't do our job well," Marco Rose said in the post-match interview after the defeat. Back in the Bundesliga, a 3-0 win over Union Berlin last weekend at the Stadion An der Alten Försterei saw Dortmund return to winning ways, WWWLW, after the 5-2 loss to Bayer Leverkusen. A brace from the skipper, Marco Reus (18' & 25'), coupled with an effort from Raphaël Guerreiro (71'), saw Dortmund with three points in the bag as they reduced the gap between themselves and the league leaders, Bayern Munich [52 points], to six points. In second place, Dortmund has 46 points after 15W, 1D, & 6L. Thursday’s defeat in the Europa League sparked rumors of an emergency meeting over Marco Rose’s future at the club. However, Dortmund’s CEO, Hans-Joachim Watzke, denied the reports, calling it "total bullsh*t," according to SID journalist Tomas Nowag, before adding that "there was no meeting." A 4—3—3 formation with Julian Brandt, Donyell Malen, and Marco Reus in attack may be seen in another Haaland-less design. Erling Haaland remains ruled out with a groin injury. In addition, a string of knee injuries has ruled out Morey and Schmelzer, while Akanji (calf) and Thomas Meunier (muscular) are in doubt for the weekend.
